Mt. Diablo Aikido visit the main Dojo of the Northern California Ki
Society for Misogi and Kokyu training.
Location:
The Mount Diablo Ki-Aikido club meets bi-weekly in a modified room of a Lafayette elementary school. In the interest of privacy, however, this school has asked that we not mention its name or address on the Internet. Nevertheless, there is nothing "secret" about its location; by contacting the Aikido club administrator, you will be provided with driving directions and answers to any other questions--sorry for the inconvenience, but we must abide by our landlord's wishes in this matter.
Training Statement:
Although the Mount Diablo Ki-Aikido club offers a separate class on Saturday mornings for Ki development exclusively, it is not generally the practice of the school to separate Aikido technique from the discipline of Shin Shin Toitsu Do. It is Koichi Tohei's wish that all of his branch Dojos practice Aikido with an emphasis on coordinating mind and body. Consequently, class content varies according to the needs of participants, and may lean more towards Ki development than martial technique, or vice-versa, on any given evening.
