Aiki Links:
Site:
The Ki Society USA official site
URL: http://ki-aikido.net
Comments: This is the official site
for the U.S.A. Ki Society. It includes a worldwide directory,
information on Koichi Tohei, and links to other Ki Society
pages, including the URL for the future Japan Ki Society webpage
in English.
Site:
The Northern California Ki Society
URL: http://www.kiaikido.org
Comments: The parent/Mother Dojo
of the Bay Area Ki Society, headed by Pietro Yuji Maida.
Site:
Aikido Journal
URL: http://www.aikidojournal.com
Comments: One of two magazines in
English on the subject of Aikido. Aikido Journal has
recently moved from a hardcopy publication to that of an online e-zine;
some areas require a subscription to access. The site mostly focuses
on the martial and historical aspects of the art, with heavy emphasis
placed on the Iwama and Yoshinkai organizations, respectively.
It also includes a high traffic online forum (no subscription necessary)
that is often frequented by our webmaster.
Site:
Aikido Today Magazine
URL: http://www.aiki.com
Comments: ATM is the second major
Aikido magazine in English, and may still be found at most
bookstores. Content-wise, it focuses more on the Spiritual aspects
of Aikido and is much more "mainstream" in its coverage
of Aiki-related matters, and the goings-on of the Ueshiba
family-operated Aikikai.
Site:
Aiki-Web
URL: http://www.aikiweb.com
Comments: Aikiweb is a comprehensive
site on the art of Aikido, including a chat forum, videos,
interviews, articles, pictures, and explanations of Japanese martial
arts terms. It requires no subscription and is also the home of the
largest Aikido Dojo search engine on the known Internet.
Site:
Michionline
URL: http://www.michionline.org
Comments: Michionline is owned
and operated by the Sennin Foundation, a kind of hybrid Shin
Shin Toitsu Aikido/Judo Dojo, founded by H.E. Davey--author
of several books, including Unlocking the Secrets of Aikijujutsu.
The organization is the only known branch school of the Tempukai
outside of Japan. On a more personal note, I have visited the school
and found that their claim to be practicing Aikijujutsu somewhat
questionable, as it appears to be more a mixture of Kodokan Judo
and Ki no Kenkyukai teachings with Daito-Ryu
terminology, than an authentic Koryu
emminating from the teachings of Sokaku Takeda. Nevertheless,
they have an online quarterly newsletter that's free to the surfing
public, and contains many articles relevant to the Budo practitioner.
Site:
All About Ki
URL: http://www.sumikiri.org/ki/kimainframe.htm
Comments: An excellent site delving
into the difficult topic of Ki theory, development, history,
and application. This is the first known site of its kind on the Internet,
and contains very valuable no nonsense information about Ki,
much of which has never appeared in English print. It also contains
information about Ki-related publications that can be purchased
online.
Site:
Koryu
URL: http://www.koryu.com
Comments: Owned and operated by martial
historians (hoplologists) Meik and Diane Skoss, this site concentrates
on traditional Japanese disciplines. It includes a book review section
and some online articles, related to traditional Budo and Bujutsu.
Site:
E-Budo
URL: http://www.e-budo.com
Comments: This is the Mother of all
bulletin board forums. It contains sections for just about every Japanese
martial art currently practiced world-wide, including some of the
latest information about traditional Japanese Jujutsu-related
arts, and their modern-day offshoots. This is yet another site currently
frequented by our webmaster.
Site:
Bugei Trading Company
URL: http://www.bugei.com
Comments: So you've always wondered
where you could have an authentic Samurai katana forged
and crafted to your specifications? Wonder no more. Bugei Trading
Company specializes in the weapons, clothing, and accessories of the
traditional Samurai warrior. Add to that its one of a kind videos
of the elusive Don Angier, Soke of Yanagi-Ryu Aikijujutsu,

Site:
Bujin Design
URL: http://www.bujindesign.com
Comments: Another excellent site offering
martial arts products for the serious practitioner. This one specializes
in Aikido-related weapons, uniforms, and accessories. Hiroshi
Ikeda, famous Aikidoka and world-renowned instructor, is
the Founder and Director of the company, in conjunction with his home
Dojo, The Boulder
Aikikai.
